The open rocky expanses of Mt Hoods east side some of my favorite landscapes around the mountain, but usually I am just passing through on a Timberline Trail run, so with an early start to the day, I headed out to Cloud Cap to explore slopes between the Football field, Spaceship Rock and Cooper Spur. The day was filled with bluebirds and blue skies, and blue glacier ice.
